As 2025 Municipal Election Rolled Around -
I was eager to put my name forward for the second time, to have the opportunity to earn your trust, your support, and your vote
to be one of six City of Leduc Councilors serving you and the community as a whole.
Why Am I Running For Council?

I am running because -

I want to continue to serve the citizens of Leduc for the greater good, paving the way forward for
sustainable growth & development for everyone to enjoy!
My roots are firmly planted in Leduc - I am Competent, Confident, and Passionate!

The City of Leduc's Vision
A Great Life. A Caring Community. A Thriving Region.
The City of Leduc's Mission
People. Building. Community.

If elected, my promise to you - to remain aligned with the City's vision & mission
I will work hard, with unity, to ensure positive growth, smart (needs vs wants), creative fiscal responsibility,
while maintaining the services we all enjoy, safe spaces for all ages, and a vision to see the next 50 years!

equally important - I will bring my years of business experience, to help guide the City in its expansion.
Foster relationships with regional partners and builders to ensure the growth makes sense!
Not adding debt and services without due study as to the comparative impact on the community.

An important piece to my campaign was attending all council meetings in person, to get a feel for the environment,
see how council works, take notes, hear from the public, and enhance my knowledge of procedures.
My Platform
I believe in

**Being Approachable & Transparent

I am and will be in the community - I encourage open communication, bring your questions or concerns.
Yes, I will happily accept positive comments – “good job” or “I really like…” and know you are being heard.
When you have a question and I don’t know the answer – rest assured I will get it for you!
I will also encourage everyone to engage in council meetings, live or stream, participate in surveys, events, etc.
to stay connected to what’s happening in the city.
Did you know - Leduc has a newsletter - sign up today www.leduc.ca

**Advocating for Persons of all Ages & Abilities

I naturally have compassion and empathy – this topic is near and dear to me.
I had the privilege to employ persons with special abilities for 15 years, and nothing made me smile more,
than seeing these individuals eager to be at work giving back to their community, knowing they are valued.
The seniors in our community are so special and deserve the very best we can offer.
If you haven’t sat n chatted with a senior, you should!
They bring warm stories, knowledge, and laughs along the way. I will be promoting safe, user-friendly community spaces where
people of all ages and abilities can access and enjoy our beautiful parks & trails in all 4 seasons.
If you see someone needing help – extend an offer.
Have you heard? Planview Place will be undergoing a huge upgrade and expansion -
Salem Manor is also upgrading and planning an expansion - including fundraising for an end-of life family suite
I fully support both initiatives!

**Supporting Small Businesses

I strongly believe in – earn local -spend local – support local. I encourage you to join me in supporting small businesses,
these entrepreneurs put it all out on the line. I have a very clear understanding of the challenges small business’s face.
I know the 24 hr 7 days a week dedication it takes to see your dream become reality.
I also understand the heartache that comes with making tough pivoting decisions in times of challenges.
What do you think Leduc needs to keep you shopping and dining local?

**Supporting Sports & Tourism, Arts & Culture

Leduc is on the map! Over the years we have grown into a diverse region.
We have rising stars, talented performers, skilled athletes and history.
Leduc is known for hosting well attended events, from sports to culture, we cover it all.
Diversity and culture glows in Leduc, there is always something to learn, something to attend, and everything to be proud of.
Along with hosting events, we grow our local economy.
Did you know the Maclab center has year-round, pocket friendly performances -
from family-friendly content to comedy date nights? Whichever way you look at it, it’s always a win-win scenario.

**Let's Talk - Decrease Mental Health Stigma

I am and will continue to be a positive influencer - there is no denying this topic is tough.
Mental health can have an ugly stigma attached to it. This is what I want to slowly breakdown.
Mental health isn’t always a long-term diagnosis. Did you know that most people have had struggles at different times in their life?
Every decision we make, takes us to another decision to make. I will be promoting a positive and healthy working relationship with organizations and keep talking about the challenges we have as a community, and how we can be of better service to our unhoused population. I want to support “connecting the dots” sort of speak.
Knowing who and where the resources are, and when to use them is key.
People who struggle are often embarrassed, lets listen without judgment and play a part in keeping everyone safe.
Together let’s help break the stigma! Let’s talk – most times that’s all we need.

We live in Leduc for all sorts of reasons What brought you here?
Whether you are a first time voter, young person, married with children
self employed, employed in Leduc, or in your retirement years - you chose Leduc.
That probably means you like what Leduc offers.
Leduc is beautiful, historic, a feel good, small home-town community with city population
with endless opportunities, and possibilities now and into the future.

If elected, you can be sure I am in 100% support of continuing and growing these initiatives

Safety – where did it go?
I feel this with you! If elected, I will work with my peers to foster a safer Leduc!
I do know some residences don’t always feel as safe as they once did.
In my opinion working with law enforcement along with being a good neighbor can go a-long way.
We won’t cut crime all together, but I know we can continue to bring down the numbers.
**There is 1 set of rules for everyone – you break the law – you get charged
**Be aware of repeat offenders – break the cycle – what additional supports do they need?
**Be a good neighbor – this can be interpreted by - Block parents – I’m sure you remember this – it worked!
Do you know your neighbor & Do you know the vehicles that are in your neck of the woods?

Did you know crime in Leduc has decreased over the last 7 months, knowing when to call the police will help them look after us!
Leduc has recently stepped up a noticeable difference in the police presence, adding to the safety in our community.
We now have - 2 full-time navigators and a mental health nurse hired to assist on the front line to our unhoused population including those in distress. We have police on pedal bikes, making it much easier to patrol our downtown core, and trails.
I have heard this is a positive reinforcement noticed by residents.

Provincial policing VS City policing - where do I stand?
I know the province of Alberta is leaning towards having their own provincial force.
Until this comes down the pipes from the province; our municipality can’t make changes in that sector.
***************************************************

Affordable housing - Its got to be easier - how do we keep a roof over our heads?
- it's been heard & step by step being followed through - it's not solved, but will certainly make a positive difference
If elected - I will foster relationships with builders to help facilitate affordable housing for a wider range of income earners.
Our children should be able to buy a home, build equity and move onwards with their pride and accomplishments in tact.
Did you know On August 6, 2025 the City of Leduc gathered with its partners:
TLA Developments Group of Holding Companies
Leduc Regional Housing Foundation along with Habitat For Humanity Edmonton
**for the official groundbreaking of Wahkohtowin** (Housing Complex)
Once complete, the development will offer a range of one, two & three-bedroom units
for both rent and ownership, including non-market housing options. Occupancy is anticipated by late 2026.
The 60,000-square-foot building will also include commercial space envisioned for a daycare and medical center
—two amenities identified as community needs.

What about our youth? Big news from BGC (Boys N Girls Club) Leduc!
BGC presented our partnership proposal for a youth centered space to City Council… and guess what?
It was unanimously supported. Here’s what that means:
The City has committed to exploring ways for BGC Leduc to build a potential youth Centre in
Kinsmen Park right in the heart of the community.
They’ve also committed up to $60,000 from Operating Reserve to get us started, things like...
detailed design work, geotechnical investigations, and site surveys. This is the official start of Phase 1!
This project has always been about one thing:
creating a safe, welcoming space where young people in Leduc can belong, grow & thrive.
Thanks to your support & amazing belief of our City Council we’re now one step closer to making it real for Leduc teens.

Property taxes in Leduc are a major concern for residents,
if elected how will you address this issue? Can you commit to reducing taxes, cut spending?
or what is your plan to ensure taxes remain stable and are not raised to fund future projects?
The first order of business after being elected is the budget planning that will take place over the month of November.

If elected It is one of my priorities and responsibilities to dig in and ask questions for expenditures, evaluating needs VS wants
Residents are accustomed to specific standards already set by the city for services like snow removal and lawn maintenance.
I will do my due diligence in asking questions, in maintaining little to no tax increase.
For the spending efficiency - I am always going to encourage shopping at home first - gathering quotes, and having good working relationships with vendors - is there value added for long term clients?
While running my businesses, it wasn't always about cost, but also quality of products and service.
Taxes fund and support the services and infrastructure that keeps Leduc strong and safe.
I'm also an avid believer that needs assessments are an important tool and used when planning for the growth we will incur.

*************************************************************

Speeding and loud vehicles are a concern in many residential areas in Leduc. If elected, what will you do to reduce the incidents of speeding and excessive vehicle noise to make our neighborhoods safe and livable?

If elected I will work with the transportation advisory board, work closely with law enforcement and seek ways to slow traffic down.
Open conversations with residents in problem areas, and potentially incorporate test zones to gather data,
build a lasting plan and policy, look at the current by-laws and revise as needed.
**************************************************************

How do you envision the City working with social services and non-profits to address the diverse needs of everyone
in our community to support their health and well-being?

If elected I will advocate and partner with like minded supports, be engaged, listen to the needs of the residents, and work in building trusted relationships to manage the diverse needs. Its my opinion that needs assessments are required. One size doesn't fit all.
***********************************************************

Effective council members have to collaborate with each other.
How will you work with your fellow council regardless of political differences?

If elected I believe its healthy to have different opinions, ideas, views, and ways of bringing our individual gifts to the table.
Not everyone will bring the same mindset, or tool box to the table -
BUT, we are all in council for the same reason, to serve the residents of Leduc.
We need to lead by example, and work for the great good, period. Respecting each other.
